Spring has Sprung!

I know technically Spring started a few weeks ago. My girls love to tell me when the first day of a new season begins, so believe me I am quite aware that Spring started last month. However for me it started this week.
First of course the warm weather, which leads to shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, flip flops, sandals and NO jackets!!!
Ben even got a chance to have the girls ride their bikes in the empty parking lot behind our house on Sunday, and all of these things are cool, but they are not things that happen only in the Spring, we have all Summer and fall for those things too.

What I like its the little signs of Spring, things that are there only in the short month of April, part of May.
The smell of Spring rain (why does it smell different then other rain?), the excitement of splashing in puddles with new rain boots. None of the cold or gloominess of a fall rainy day, but rather the sun peeking through, the warming rain, and the good chance of a rainbow.

The tulips, daffs, crocuses, hyacinths etc. poking out of the ugly earth, still covered with leftover leaves from the fall, signs of renewal yes, but for me that says, "finally another winter is behind us."

I like the newness of the warm weather things. I feel like bears are not the only things that hibernate, when we start venturing out to the playgrounds and see other kids and parents we have not seen since October or early November.

I love the hot weather of the summer, the beaches, vacations, no school. Then I love the crispy air of the fall, the traditions of another year of school starting, the long days of summer ending, and going back to the routines that I love so much. Winter has never been a favorite, but without it, not sure I would appreciate the finer things Spring has to offer. I guess I feel its the start of the Seasons and activities that I love.
