twins with very different personalities

i have always known the girls had quite different personalities, but there was a moment this week where it hit me right in the face. we have had a very difficult week, dealing with a family tragedy. one of my youngest cousins suffered a freak accident and spent almost a week on a respirator. i got the call monday, telling me that it was time to say good-bye. i made arrangements for the girls to spend the afternoon with a friend so i could go down to the hospital. i picked up the girls and drove to their friends, and explained the situation to them as i drove. justine was mostly quiet asking a few questions, caroline was crying, she wanted to go to the hospital with me, when i explained that she couldn't she understood, but gave me a list of things to tell our cousin. when i arrived at the friends, i asked caroline if she wanted me to hold her, which she did, i held her in the drivers seat of my car, justine on the other hand, just hopped out of the car, came around patted me on the arm and said well, mom, you've been through this before, you will be ok! and off she went....
i've decided when i need a shoulder to cry on, i will call caroline, and when i need a kick in the butt, i will call justine. i know there are times in life when i will need one or the other if not both. i am so blessed to have my girls

  1. Addi and Paige aren't twins, but it always astounds me at how differnent these girls are. They are both girls, both from the same mother and father, but completely different. We joke that in our house we subconsciously gave them the initials AM and PM because we knew that they were going to be as different as night and day.
